Significant advancements have been made in recent years that have improved reliability, lowered implementation and operating costs, and increased efficiencies for natural gas, making it a dominant alternative transportation fuel for America’s fleets. Godlewski, Pickens, Smith, Spear- T. Boone Pickens is one of the nation's most successful businessmen, having built one of the largest independent oil companies, Mesa Petroleum. He later became a highly successful investment fund operator with BP Capital. Pickens is working to reduce the country's dependency on OPEC oil and is a champion of pursuing alternative energy options.
- Frederick W. Smith is chairman, president and CEO of FedEx Corp., where he is responsible for providing strategic direction for all FedEx Corp. operating companies. Smith is co-chairman of the Energy Security Leadership Council.
- Matt Godlewski is president of Natural Gas Vehicles for America. Godlewski has also served on the leadership team of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers as vice president of state affairs.
The host for the program is Chris Spear, who recently returned to American Trucking Associations as President and CEO after a previous stint as senior vice president of legislative affairs. In between, Spear was vice president of government affairs for Hyundai Motor Company.
