Logistics Startup Shipsi Raises $1.9 Million in Seed Funding

Logistics startup Shipsi has raised $1.9 million in its most recent round of funding, the company announced in a Nov. 28 press release. The seed funding follows an initial self-injection of $350,000 and a friends-and-family raise of $380,000.

Shipsi has set out to offer same-day shipping for retailers by tapping into last-mile networks such as those of Postmates and Uber. It hopes to eventually give thousands of retailers the power to compete with Amazon Prime’s same-day shipping option.

The solution works by integrating with the retailer’s website and then communicating with last-mile delivery networks on the retailer’s behalf. Brands such as Oracle and Restoration Hardware have begun using the service.

The Venice, Calif.-based startup was founded in 2017 and will split this round of funding among product development, team expansion and sales and marketing.
