Mack to Lay Off 180 Plant Workers

Mack Trucks will lay off 180 employees at its factory near Allentown, Pa., the Associated Press reported Wednesday.

Citing economic conditions, the company said the layoffs will take effect Dec. 23, when the plant will temporarily stop production, as it usually does, AP said. The reduced staff will return to work Jan. 12.

The truck manufacturer employees about 680 trucks at its Pennsylvania plant.
