Mack Trucks announced a new service called dynamic maintenance for connected vehicles. It is focused on enabling customers to optimize planned downtime.
The service further expands Mack’s partnership with Noregon, an internet of things company that specializes in connected-vehicle solutions.
Mack uses the Noregon platform to enhance the dealer-user interface and bring the decision-making process closer to the customer through the dealer.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 5 years since we partnered with @MackTrucks and @VolvoTrucksNA to develop Truck Diagnostic System, OE proprietary software for Mack and Volvo trucks. #TBT pic.twitter.com/sM8vOhAhim — Noregon (@NoregonSystems) August 15, 2019
Dynamic maintenance leverages data intelligence from vehicle data analytics, combined with enhanced software features from Mack GuardDog Connect telematics, the Noregon platform and Mack’s ASIST service communications process. The objective is to more accurately reflect planned maintenance needs and replace traditional “set mileage scheduled” plans, according to the Greensboro, N.C.-based company, a unit of Volvo Group.
Currently, dynamic maintenance is targeted to powertrain-related maintenance services. — Transport Topics
