Magnus Technologies, a provider of trucking and logistics management software, introduced an updated version of its driver mobile app and added features to manage non-freight-related events on a driver’s journey to improve load planning.

Magnus announced the new products Sept. 15 at Trimble’s Insight 2024 conference in Las Vegas.

The redesigned Magnus Driver App offers customizable workflows aimed at simplifying drivers’ daily tasks while streamlining communications with the back office.

The app includes integrated image and document capture capabilities and exception management tools for drivers to report delays, refused loads, detention time and other events.

The driver app integrates with the Magnus platform, electronic logging devices and vehicle telematics systems.

Magnus also added the capability for users to include planned stops on driver routes for non-freight-related (NFR) events such as fueling, trailer pickups, equipment repositioning, driver home time and maintenance.

This enables companies to determine a more accurate estimated time of arrival by incorporating all details of a driver’s route.

“Adding NFR events to driver routes with our cohesive and robust load-planning process gives truckload fleets a complete, accurate, real-time picture of operations,” said Jay Delaney, director of product development at Magnus. “The new system tracks all time and miles on a route to identify cost leakage and improve billing and driver pay accuracy.”
