Marten’s Second-Quarter Income Rises 15%

Refrigerated truckload carrier Marten Transport’s second-quarter profit rose 15.2% as its logistics operations expanded.

Net income rose to $5.2 million, or 23 cents per share, from $4.5 million, or 20 cents, a year ago.

Revenue from truckload and logistics operations rose to $125.9 million, from $125.8 million, the company said late Tuesday.

Logistics revenue rose $1.1 million in the quarter, net of intermodal fuel surcharges.



Marten Transport is ranked No. 40 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
