Marten’s Second-Quarter Profit Improves

Marten Transport’s second-quarter profit rose 20.1% on improved performance in its truckload and logistics sectors, along with higher fuel surcharge revenue, the company said Tuesday.

Net income rose to $6.2 million, or 28 cents per share, from $5.2 million, or 23 cents, a year ago.

Revenue increased to $151.1 million from $125.9 million, while revenue net of fuel surcharges climbed 14% to $121.8 million.

Marten Transport is ranked No. 43 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
