Midtronics Announces HD Battery Diagnostic Service

Midtronics Inc. announced its DSS-5000 HD Battery Diagnostic Service System is available for commercial truck and fleet applications. The patented technology is designed to provide accurate and decisive battery state of health information.
“The Android-based apps make the testing process intuitive and easy to follow,” A.J. Palmisano, global business manager of truck products at Midtronics, said in a release.
This new Midtronics HD tester supports Recommended Practice 129 of American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council for electrical system diagnostics.
Other preprogrammed service apps include pack and cable drop testing procedures that make testing more intuitive and less prone to error, according to the Willowbrook, Ill.-based company. It also can detect and flag reserve capacity issues, a key to avoiding loss of vehicle function or no-start conditions. — Transport Topics
