Jake Montero will become the top executive at Peterbilt, replacing Jason Skoog, who had held the general manager position since March 2018.
Montero was tapped to replace Skoog after the latter decided to step down for personal reasons, a Peterbilt spokeswoman said in an email.
In a Jan. 27 post on LinkedIn, Skoog said he was stepping aside to spend more time with his children after a 2024 that “was particularly challenging and difficult.”
“After 30 amazing years, I have decided to step away from Peterbilt and Paccar. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone at Peterbilt and the entire Paccar organization for the incredible opportunities, support and enduring relationships,” he wrote.

Skoog added that he “will be exploring new opportunities in the future.”
Montero, who will be based at Peterbilt’s Denton, Texas, headquarters, previously spent two years as Peterbilt assistant general manager of sales and marketing and has been employed by Paccar for 19 years.
“I am excited to lead Peterbilt during this pivotal time in the trucking industry with increased opportunities to leverage advanced technology and innovation to deliver first-class vehicle solutions to our customers,” he said in a statement.
