Montreal Firm FLS Transportation Services Acquires Scott Logistics

FLS Transportation Services, a Montreal-based 3PL, has announced the acquisition of Scott Logistics Corp., a freight broker headquartered in Georgia. Terms were not disclosed.

“Scott Logistics is one of the fastest-growing 3PLs in our space,” John Leach, CEO of FLS, said in a Feb. 14 press release. “Scott’s focus to deliver true value for its customers stems from its people, processes and technology. The combination of FLS’ 30-year, cross-border expertise with Scott’s deep U.S. carrier network will significantly increase our scale and coverage in the highly fragmented truckload brokerage space.”

Scott Logistics ranks No. 42 on Transport Topics’ list of top freight brokerage firms, and FLS Transportation ranks No. 28. The acquisition will create a single 3PL entity with revenues of approximately $500 million, Leach added.

Founded in 1987, FLS operates 10 offices in the United States and Canada. Scott Logistics was founded in 1994 and has 160 employees. — Transport Topics
