N.C. Diesel, Gasoline Taxes to Rise 2.5 Cents in July

Motor carriers filling up in North Carolina will be paying 2.5 cents more in diesel taxes beginning July 1.

The state’s legislature took no action on an automatic recalculation of the state’s fuel tax before ending their five-month session on June 19, according to the Associated Press.

Therefore, the state’s tax on gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuels will rise to 35 cents per gallon from 32.5 cents, from July 1 through Dec. 31, according to North Carolina Department of Revenue’s website.
