Police have started ticketing drivers who don’t respect the prohibition against through trucks on secondary roadways imposed by Gov. Christie Todd Whitman nearly a year ago.

State troopers have been turning around trucks violating the ban since January, but now police have the power to ticket drivers, too. Nearly 100 tickets have been written since enforcement began May 20.
