In New Jersey, Cory Booker vs. Jeff Bell: Why You Should Care

Each day this week, three times per day, Transport Topics reporter Eugene Mulero looks at one of 15 key congressional races that affect transportation interests, and explains Why You Should Care.

Today: New Jersey's Senate race – Incumbent Democrat Cory Booker vs. Republican challenger Jeff Bell.

Sen. Cory Booker, a social media aficionado from the Garden State, has become a key player in the national trucking arena for his staunch opposition to efforts in the Senate to suspend for a year the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s new hours-of-service rule. While most pollsters are picking Booker to easily defeat Jeff Bell in November, political observers say the Republican would differ on key policy issues if he were to win.
