Nussbaum Transportation has increased driver pay 6% for over-the-road drivers, effective in January.
The Hudson, Illinois carrier’s pay will range from 42 cents to 52 cents per mile, depending on haul, including a weekly minimum pay guarantee of $1,050.
“At a time of economic improvement in the U.S., with an abundance of available nondriving jobs, pay plays an important role in keeping drivers on the road,” CEO Brent Nussbaum said in a statement.
The increase, paired with the company’s bonus program, means average annual earnings of more than $63,000, according to the company.
“Our company is committed to improving wages to retain quality drivers and attract new people to this industry,” Nussbaum said.
