Obama Signs Diesel Emissions Act Into Law

President Obama signed the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act into law Jan. 4.

The new law will accelerate the introduction of clean diesel technologies and will “be a significant and important accomplishment for the 111th Congress,” said Allen Schaeffer, executive director of the Diesel Technology Forum.

“DERA is important to our national economic growth because diesel engines power over 95% of our commercial trucks,” Schaeffer said in a statement.
