Oil fell more than $1 Friday to close the trading week below $70 a barrel, Bloomberg reported.

Crude futures fell $1.07 on the New York Mercantile Exchange to finish the trading week at $69.16 a barrel, Bloomberg said.

The $70.23 closing price Thursday was the only time this week oil closed above $70, as the dollar fluctuated against world currencies, Bloomberg said.

The Energy Department is scheduled to release its weekly price surveys on retail diesel and gasoline prices Monday afternoon in Washington.
