Oil Closes Week Over $46

Oil fell 78 cents Friday to close the week at $46.25 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, about $6 higher than the start of the month, Bloomberg reported.

OPEC ministers will meet this weekend in Vienna, Austria, to discuss possible production cuts, Bloomberg said.

Benchmark light sweet crude futures are about $100 below the all-time Nymex record closing price of $145.29, set last July.

The Department of Energy is scheduled to release its weekly diesel and gasoline survey Monday afternoon.
