Oil Rises to Finish Week Over $75 a Barrel

Oil rose almost $2 Friday to finish the week over $75 a barrel, posting its first weekly gain in three weeks, Bloomberg reported.

Crude futures rose $1.80 to finish the New York Mercantile Exchange trading week at $75.16 a barrel, up from $73.46 last Friday.

The gain game as the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index jumped 1.4%, Bloomberg reported.

Oil had fallen from more than $80 a barrel in early August to below $72 this week, before bouncing back the past few days.



Gasoline futures also rose Friday, Bloomberg reported. Diesel and gasoline prices have both seen downturns in the past two weeks.

The Department of Energy will report its weekly price survey of pump prices Monday afternoon in Washington.
