Omnitracs Debuts Enhanced Trailer-Tracking Features
Omnitracs Inc. said its trailer-tracking system now has the capability to display additional trailer information on its in-cab display system.
The company, a subsidiary of Qualcomm Inc., said its Trailer Tracks 210 system will automatically transmit trailer location, connect and disconnect times as well as location directly to its in-cab display system, the Mobile Computing Platform 110 or 210.
The additional information will enable drivers to quickly identify incorrect trailer pick-ups, saving fleets time and money, the company said.
“Fleets that use TT210 will benefit from its comprehensive view of trailer and tractor location status by spending more productive time on the road rather than reconciling the mistakes of incorrect trailer pick-ups,” Omnitracs Vice President Vikas Jain said in a statement.
The trucking technology provider said Celadon Trucking Services is one of the earliest adopters of the new features and has taken advantage of the technology.
“We’ve already come to rely heavily on the TT210’s location and status tracking, geofencing capability, cargo sensor, and immediate connect/disconnect information to reduce out-of-route miles, ensure on-time delivery, and more efficiently manage trailer inventories,” Celadon’s chief information officer, Mike Gabbei, said in a statement.
Celadon Trucking Services is part of Celadon Group, which is ranked No. 44 on the Transport Topics Top 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
