Omnitracs to Offer Onboard Video Product
DALLAS — Omnitracs announced plans to offer its own onboard video system, expanding the list of vendors targeting the growing onboard camera market.
Omnitracs’ Critical Event Video product will enable fleets to download video captured a few seconds before and after a crash or other event to re-create the incident, Chief Technology Officer Dan Speicher said at the company’s 2016 user conference here.
Jeff Champa, senior director of product development, said the video technology will integrate directly with Omnitracs’ enterprise services and XRS platforms, enabling customers to view video within the same applications they already are using.
“The camera system is completely integrated all the way into both of those systems,” he said.
