P.A.M. Transportation Services reported second-quarter net income of $4.95 million, or 62 cents per share, from $2.68 million, or 31 cents, the prior year.
Revenue dipped to $104.3 million from $104.4 million the same time last year, the truckload carrier said.
“The earnings-per-share results attained so far this year represent a 200% increase as compared to the same period last year, and this quarter’s earnings per share represents our highest single-quarter earnings-per-share results on record,” President Daniel Cushman said in a statement.
“Our expedited division continues to grow and now comprises approximately 20% of our overall revenue. This division is very diverse and very service sensitive. By the nature of the business, we keep drivers moving, and they get the miles they desire,” Cushman said.
P.A.M. Transportation Services, based in Tontitown, Ark., ranks No. 63 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
