P.A.M. Swings to Third-Quarter Profit

P.A.M. Transportation Services posted a third-quarter profit, turning around a loss from the year-ago period.

The truckload carrier earned $880,000, or 10 cents a share, compared with a loss of $1.7 million, or 19 cents, a year ago.

Revenue rose 6.3% to $94.5 million, Tontitown, Ark.-based P.A.M. said in a statement.

The carrier said that as of Sept. 30, the average age of its tractors was 1.9 years, down from a high of 3.5 years old in April 2011.

P.A.M. is ranked No. 67 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
