P.A.M. Takes $1.3 Million 2Q Loss

Truckload carrier P.A.M. Transportation Services said it lost $1.3 million, or 14 cents a share, in the second quarter, compared with net income of $2.2 million, or 21 cents, a year earlier.

Operating revenue rose 4% to $110.9 million, P.A.M. said in a statement.

“The largest negative impact on our expenses during the quarter continued to be the soaring cost of diesel, which represented an approximate $.06 increase per mile, net of fuel surcharge,” President Robert Weaver said in a statement.

P.A.M. is ranked No. 62 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
