Patriot Loses Some Big Customers

Patriot Transportation Holding said its transportation group has been unsuccessful in renewing contracts with major customers who accounted for $10 million in revenue last year, or 11% of its total.

The publicly traded Jacksonville, Fla., company said Wednesday it was committed to finding replacement business for the lost clients.

“The customers were lost to competing carriers due to lower pricing … in an intensely competitive environment,” Patriot said in a statement.

For the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, revenue from the lost customers was slightly more than $10 million or about 11% of transportation group revenue, the statement said.

Patriot Transportation is ranked No. 13 of the top 15 flatbed and heavy specialized carriers in the United States and Canada in the Transport Topics 100 listing.
