Tank and bulk carrier Patriot Transportation Holding said Tuesday it almost doubled its profit in its fiscal fourth quarter, compared with a year ago.
Its fourth-quarter net income was $1.994 million, or 63 cents a share, compared with $999,000, or 32 cents, a year ago.
Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 rose slightly to $28 million, from $27.8 million. Transportation revenue rose slightly to $22.8 million.
For the fiscal year 2010, profit grew to $7.4 million, from $3.8 million the year before. Revenue fell to $111.3 million, from $113.6 million.
Patriot operates tank carrier Florida Rock & Tank Lines and a real estate business.
