PeopleNet, Drivewyze Integrate Technology

PeopleNet said it has integrated its GPS and mobile communication technologies with the Drivewyze PreClear electronic weigh station pre-clearance system and will be a reseller of the service.

The integration of the two technologies allows for hands-free delivery of the weigh station bypass service, according to PeopleNet.

The Drivewyze PreClear system lets the driver know through the in-cab communications device when the truck is approaching a weigh station.

If the carrier and truck pass criteria established by each state enforcement agency the driver receives permission to bypass the inspection site. If there is an issue, the driver is signaled to pull in.

“PeopleNet’s decision to become a reseller of Drivewyze PreClear through this agreement demonstrates its commitment to providing fleets mobility solutions that can leverage their safety and compliance investments to reduce operating costs,” Brian Heath, president of Drivewyze said in a statement.
