PrePass Safety Alliance named Erik Dietz executive vice president Jan. 2, tasking the transportation industry veteran with advancing safety and efficiency in commercial vehicle operations.

Dietz brings experience from Michelin Mobility Intelligence, where he served as president and chief operating officer. At Michelin, he oversaw initiatives that used driver data to improve road safety and introduced technologies that expanded the company’s global reach.

“Erik’s track record in innovation and safety makes him a strong addition,” said Mark Doughty, president and CEO of PrePass Safety Alliance. The nonprofit works to improve highway safety and operational efficiency in partnership with government agencies and transportation industry stakeholders.

Dietz will lead the alliance’s corporate development efforts, focusing on partnerships with state transportation departments, motor carriers and other groups. His priorities will include deploying new technologies to improve safety and simplify operations in the commercial transportation sector. He said his new role provides an opportunity to build on the alliance’s existing programs to improve highway safety and efficiency.

Dietz also is a board director for the Intelligent Transportation Society of America, an organization focused on technological advancements in mobility.
