More than 426,000 commercial motor carriers have enrolled in the PrePass weigh station safety screening system, an all-time high level of participation, HELP Inc., PrePass’ service provider, said Tuesday.
“The recent growth in participation by motor carriers is a testament to bottom line safety and economic benefits carriers receive,” said Richard Clasby, HELP Inc.’s CEO.
Carriers have to date saved more than 41 million hours of driver time, nearly 200 million gallons of fuel, and operating savings of $3.3 billion, he said in a statement.
PrePass is the nation’s largest truck safety e-screening program, which allows qualified motor carriers to electronically comply with state weight, safety and credential requirements at 301 locations in 31 states while passing sites at highway speed.
