Quality’s 2Q Profit Improves from a Year Ago

Tank truck carrier Quality Distribution reported second-quarter net income of $2.1 million, or 9 cents per share, compared with a loss of $186.2 million, or $9.58, a year ago.

Total revenue rose 18.5% to $177.6 million, from $149.8 million a year ago. Transportation revenue excluding fuel surcharges grew to $129.5 million, from $112.1 million.

Quality Distribution is ranked No. 36 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
