Roadie, an on-the-way delivery service with the nation’s largest local same-day footprint, said it has raised $37 million in funding from The Home Depot, Warren Stephens and TomorrowVentures, among others, officials announced Feb 25.
The latest round of investment brings its funding raised to date to $62 million, the company said.
Roadie has recently announced delivery partnerships with Delta Air Lines, The Home Depot and Walmart Inc., expanding to 224 U.S. metropolitan areas, according to the company. Roadie officials said the sale of its partnerships now allow delivery of anything up to 100 miles around every major city in America.
The company said its same-day delivery footprint now reaches 89% of U.S. households. Since its 2015 launch, Roadie has grown to over 120,000 drivers and has delivered to more than 11,000 cities and towns nationwide.
Roadie provides delivery service by putting unused capacity in passenger vehicles, connecting people with items to send with drivers already going that way. — Transport Topics
