Rockfarm Supply Chain Solutions has acquired a majority interest in Global Distribution & Logistics to expand its global service offering, the buyer announced in a statement
Rockfarm, of Dubuque, Iowa, ranks No. 43 on the Transport Topics list of 2015 Top Brokerage Firms. It didn’t disclose the terms for purchasing the interest in Global, based in Elgin, Illinois.
The buyer, which has grown to have annual revenue of $105 million since it was founded in 2008, said that John Yarwood, founder of Global and a key shareholder, would be leading international growth efforts.
“Global Distribution & Logistics strengthens our international forwarding and customs brokerage service offering and allows us to better offer integrated international services to our client base,” Rockfarm CEO Todd Colin said in a statement. Global is licensed as an ocean transportation intermediary and a non-vessel operating common carrier through the Federal Maritime Commission.
Rockfarm’s services include management and analysis of supply chain services, consulting, claims management and related trucking services.
