Ruan Transportation Management Systems
Ruan Transportation Management Systems based in Des Moines, Iowa, has promoted Ben McLean to president and chief operating officer with responsibility for all of the company’s trucking and logistics operations nationwide.
McLean, who previously served as executive vice president of Ruan and oversaw the company’s western operations, along with information technology, maintenance, assets and legal affairs, is part of the third generation of the Ruan family to take on significant roles in the company, said Steve Chapman, CEO of Ruan in a statement on Aug. 26.
“He will undoubtedly continue its tradition of putting people first, providing exceptional service and giving back to the communities Ruan serves,” Chapman said.
The company also named Dan Van Alstine as president of western dedicated contract services. Alstine joins Ruan from Schneider in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he was general manager of dedicated services and logistics.
Ruan is ranked No. 38 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of largest for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.
