Ryder System said Monday it has expanded its leasing contract with Ceva Logistics by adding more than 1,000 trailers.
“We’ve been working with Ryder for more than 30 years and their continued loyalty, geographic coverage and operational flexibility have given us the confidence to sign on to this substantial order,” Jim Krepp, Ceva’s vice president of procurement in the Americas, said in a statement.
“This significant upgrade to our fleet provides our customers with state-of-the-art equipment and is a testament to our growing presence in North America,” Krepp said.
The trailers are made by Utility Trailer, and the the 1,044-unit order placed for their model 4000D-X Composite trailers is its largest single order, and the largest trailer lease order that Ryder has ever placed, the companies said.
Ryder System is ranked No. 5 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers. Ceva is ranked No. 25 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of the largest logistics companies in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
