Saia Names Frederick Holzgrefe III President, COO
Saia Inc., a multiregional LTL, nonasset truckload, expedited and logistics services provider, announced it has named Frederick J. Holzgrefe III as its new president and chief operating officer effectively immediately, according to a Jan. 4 press release. Additionally, he has joined the board of directors.

Holzgrefe joined Saia in 2014 after serving in leadership roles at Golden Peanut Company, an agricultural processor and distributor. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s of business administration from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.
“During his tenure [at Saia], the company has made meaningful systemwide investments positioning the company for continued growth while achieving record results and further solidifying Saia’s financial and market position,” Saia CEO Rick O’Dell said. “His financial expertise, operational focus and collaborative leadership style have been critical to the company’s performance.”
Saia is headquartered in Johns Creek, Ga., and operates 160 terminals in 41 states. Saia ranks No. 27 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of largest for-hire carriers in North America.
