Saia's President Resigns

Saia Motor Freight Line President Jimmy D. Crisp has resigned, effective Aug. 31. Crisp is leaving to purchase a North Carolina-based motor freight carrier, according to Yellow Corp., Saia’s parent company.

A. Maurice Myers, Yellow’s chairman, will serve as interim president of Saia until a new head is named. A search is under way, Yellow said.

Crisp was named president of Saia, an Atlanta-based regional carrier serving 12 Southeastern states, in 1994. He began his career with Yellow Freight System in 1975 as a management trainee and held positions in sales and operations.

Yellow Corp. is a holding company with operating subsidiaries specializing in national, regional and international transportation of goods and materials.
