Secured Digital Applications, a provider of asset-tracking services, has unveiled its new pocket-size Bluetooth Global Positioning System receiver, saying it offers a cheaper alternative to comparable vehicle-mounted systems.
The receiver, known as the EyStar, can wirelessly connect to Bluetooth-enabled cell phones, laptops or other devices to allow GPS functionality, SDA said in a statement.
The unit can function without an external power supply for about 15 hours, SDA said.
Besides GPS and radio frequency identification system integration services, SDA, New York, also provides business outsourcing services to clients in the transportation and logistics industries.
