Search Is On For Highway Heroes
Goodyear Tire and Rubber is soliciting nominations for the 18th annual installment of its Highway Hero awards.
“We believe that the general public, which too often sees a negative portrayal of truck drivers, needs to hear these stories,” said Mike Thomann, marketing director of commercial tires for Goodyear. “They showcase the quality of people who make a living driving trucks.”

The nominations are due by Oct. 15.
Each year, the Akron, Ohio, tire company recognizes heroic deeds often dramatic rescues of motorists in crash situations performed by truck drivers in the United States and Canada. One of the goals of the awards is to present the public with a more positive image of truckers.
