Senate Confirms NTSB’s Hersman for 3rd Term

The Senate on Oct. 16 confirmed Deborah Hersman for a third term as head of the National Transportation Safety Board.

Hersman was appointed to the board as a member by President George W. Bush in 2004 and reappointed to a second five-year term by President Obama, who also appointed her as chairman in 2009 and again in 2011.

The president nominated her for a third term in August.

The Senate also confirmed board member Christopher Hart for a second term.
