Sitton Motor Lines to Close Doors

Missouri-based Sitton Motor Lines is closing its doors after doing business for 30 years.

The Joplin, Mo.-based truckload carrier had about 560 trucks and more than 1,300 trailers, according to According to American Trucking Associations fleet data.

Sitton Motor Lines was started in 1979 by David Sitton and his two sons, Richard and Michael Sitton, the Springfield (Mo.) Business Journal reported. It began by serving 13 states with five owner-operator tractors and 50 trailers.

Recent revenue reports show a current estimated annual revenue of nearly $100 million, the paper said on its Web site.



David Sitton passed away in 1994 and Richard Sitton was named the company’s president, the paper said.
