SkyBitz is expanding its product offerings with a new GPS device, which tracks the location and status of assets without an external power source.
The company said the Falcon Series GXT2000 is ideal for long-term reporting on the status of unpowered assets, such as intermodal containers, chassis and trailers to increase visibility and utilization.
The GXT2000 offers a multiyear battery life, operates on a 3G/4G cellular network and provides coverage throughout North America, SkyBitz said.
The company also said the product takes less than 30 minutes to install on average.
The GXT2000 was built on the same platform as the company’s tethered Falcon GXT3000 device, SkyBitz said.
When combined with the SkyBitz-as-a-Service platform, customers can deploy the tracking devices throughout their fleets with no upfront cost, SkyBitz said in the Sept. 22 announcement.
