SmartDrive Launches SmartIQ Data Analytics Platform
SmartDrive SystemsSmartDrive Systems, a supplier of video-based safety technology, has launched a data analytics platform aimed at helping fleets extract actionable information from the growing amount of data captured by their vehicles and onboard technology.
The company said its SmartIQ Transportation Intelligence Suite combines video with data analytics to better interpret driver and vehicle performance, thus helping fleets improve safety and efficiency.
“SmartIQ creates new opportunities for fleets to unlock the value of their technology investments by moving beyond reporting toward information sharing and real-time insights fueled by new algorithms, predictive analytics and prescriptive action,” CEO Steve Mitgang said in the Jan. 19 announcement.
The SmartIQ Suite also offers new performance metrics, the San Diego-based technology supplier said.
“Transportation intelligence is a big idea whose time has arrived,” said Don Osterberg, a former senior vice president at truckload carrier Schneider who recently joined SmartDrive’s board of advisors. “There is tremendous opportunity to address long-standing industry challenges, especially in areas of safety, with proactive intervention. To do that, solutions must create value from the explosion of fleet data and make those insights accessible to all fleets.”
