Sunoco Partners Marketing & Terminals said it has paid approximately $66 million to obtain the equity stake in Sandford Energy it did not already own, giving Sunoco full control of the company.

Sandford, based in Decatur, Texas, distributes approximately 115 million gallons of fuel annually and operates a fleet of eight tractors and trailers, based on registration data on file with the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The move follows Sunoco’s purchase of wholesale fuel distribution and terminal assets from Superior Plus Corp. in April. That business consisted of about 100 retail dealers, several hundred commercial accounts and three terminal facilities serving the upstate New York market.

Sunoco is a master limited partnership that distributes fuel to approximately 9,200 convenience stores, independent dealers and commercial customers in more than 30 states.

Sunoco and Energy Transfer Partners are both owned by Energy Transfer Equity, a master limited partnership.

The two entities combined rank No. 66 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of largest private fleets in North America
