Grocery store chain Supervalu Inc. said it is selling its Total Logistic Control subsidiary to Ryder System.
Subject to closing conditions and regulatory approval, the sale will close Dec. 31, Supervalu said in a statement Wednesday.
TLC provides logistics and supply chain management services to the food, beverage and consumer packaged goods companies, Supervalu said. Ryder will keep TLC’s management after the acquisition, and Supervalu does not expect service disruptions for customers.
The companies did not release further terms of their agreement.
Supervalu, Eden Prairie, Minn., is ranked No. 20 on the Transport Topics Private 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian private carriers. Ryder ranks No. 7 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of U.S. and Canadian logistics companies.
