Swift Reports Higher 2Q Net Income

Swift Transportation Co.’s second-quarter profit rose from a year ago on higher revenue at its truckload and intermodal operations.

Net income rose to $42.9 million, or 30 cents per share, from $33.7 million, or 24 cents, a year ago. Revenue rose 2.9% to $898.1 million.

Revenue excluding fuel surcharges at its truckload segment rose 3.9% to $468.6 million, Swift said in a statement.

Revenue excluding fuel surcharges at its intermodal segment increased 4.7% to $66.9 million.



Its dedicated services segment’s revenue excluding fuel surcharges rose slightly to $148.7 million from $147.5 million.
