TA Logistics is expanding its service footprint by linking up with sister companies under the parent company, TFI International Inc., according to an Oct. 15 news release.
TA Logistics said it is adding availability from Transport America; CFI, a truckload carrier; and CFI Logistics, a supply chain company.
TA Logistics, founded in 2000 and based in Eagan, Minn., provides third-party logistics for manufacturing, industrial and retail-based businesses, the company said.
The company said the new footprint helps it gain broader capabilities to address customer needs for dedicated truckload capacity, freight brokerage, transportation management and network optimization, warehousing and distribution, and supply chain engineering.
TA Logistics said it will also maintain a relationship with and access to TForce, a provider of expedited same-day, final-mile delivery.
Customers increasingly want a logistics partner that can operate and deliver value across the broadest footprint of their supply chain, said Bill Carter, TA Logistics vice president of logistics. Establishing more formal relationships and joint-sales efforts with sister companies, and the complementary capabilities they offer, allows TA Logistics to significantly bolster its ability to meet customers’ needs, Carter said in the news release. Customers today want to be able to choose a single element of integrated transportation service, he said.
TForce operates a network of 60 distribution and product-staging centers in the U.S., with nearly 4,400 dedicated last-mile delivery trucks, covering 92% of U.S. communities. TForce offers expedited last-mile service for parcel, package, freight and large-format goods delivered into homes or businesses.
CFI is a truckload carrier with a fleet of more than 2,300 trucks and 7,000 trailers providing on-demand and dedicated truckload services.
TFI International is a Montreal-based transportation and logistics firm operating across the United States, Canada and Mexico through subsidiaries. It ranks No. 10 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America. — Transport Topics
