LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Trailer maker Talbert Manufacturing introduced two new heavy-haul trailers, a 50-ton bus hauler and a 55-ton roller paver.
Talbert made the announcements here at the Mid-America Trucking Show.
The company designed the bus hauler with extra steel in the main and side beams of the deck as well as the gooseneck and rear axles, according to Talbert. The design allows the trailer to achieve its 50-ton capacity rating without significantly increasing its weight.
It also is ideal for hauling equipment with low clearance and long wheel bases, such as graders and aircraft refueler trucks, the company said.
The roller paver has dual kingpin settings, which allow drivers to operate in states with 43-foot kingpin laws, such as Connecticut, without the need for a permit when traveling empty, Talbert said.
Also, the manufacturer said the trailer’s concentrated load rating of 55 tons in 12 1/2 feet of deck allows owners to haul a variety of equipment, including rollers, pavers, excavators and dozers.
