TCA Benchmarking Gets Justice Approval

Truckload carriers will launch a joint effort cut costs and improve service through a benchmarking project after receiving approval from the Department of Justice to share certain business information.

The Truckload Carriers Association had waited for eight months for clearance from the federal government before beginning a benchmarking program intended to increase the efficiency of carrier operations. TCA officials sought Justice Department approval to remove any potential antitrust concerns associated with competitor cooperation.
