Teamsters Win Another Battle

After a Teamsters election victory in Laredo, Texas, the National Labor Relations Board has certified the union to represent 100 employees of Overnite Transportation Co. in Detroit, union officials said.

Results of the 1995 election at the Detroit terminal, where 63% of the drivers and dock workers voted for union representation, were challenged by the company because workers were taking pictures during the voting.

Overnite officials maintain that the photo-taking intimidated some workers and unfairly influenced the vote.
