Teamsters Win Representation Elections at Two XPO Facilities
Workers at two XPO Logistics facilities voted to be represented by the Teamsters as the union’s organizing efforts continue.
Warehouse workers at North Haven, Connecticut, and XPO Freight employees in Aurora, Illinois, backed the union during a representation election. There are about 125 workers at the Connecticut facility and 75 in Illinois.

The union has won five elections since the first balloting more than two years ago but still has lost more votes than it has won at the former Con-way Freight.
“It’s a new day here in Aurora because the workers took the bold step of forming their union as Teamsters,” said Tom Flynn, president of Local 179 in Joliet, Illinois. “We will work hard to negotiate a contract that addresses their issues.”

A company spokesman said, “We’re investigating the process leading to the elections in both facilities to determine if they were lawful. If the elections stand, it will impact 200 employees. The vast majority of our 44,000 employees in the U.S. value a direct relationship with management.”
