Telogis Launches Upgraded Telematics Platform

Technology vendor Telogis Inc. has introduced Fleet 11, the latest version of its fleet management and telematics offering.

The upgraded software supports more detailed alerts and engine data through closer integrations with truck manufacturers, the company said.

Mark Wallin, vice president of product management at Telogis, told Transport Topics that those integrations can leverage more of the truck makers’ proprietary data to provide advanced metrics such as top-gear time, top-gear fuel and engine speed histories.

That additional data “is really going to be critical” as fleets take the next steps in understanding driver behavior, Wallin said.

Telogis and Volvo Trucks first announced a collaborative effort in March, but Wallin said the technology supplier also is working with other heavy-duty truck makers.

“If you’ve got a specific class of truck and model, there may be particular metrics that can be very helpful in improving maintenance and better understanding driver behavior,” he said.

Fleet 11 also integrates Telogis Coach, an application that gives drivers and fleet managers the same view of the driver’s performance scorecard.
